Essay on 'My Home'

The saying ‘East or West, my home is the best’ is true in more ways than one. Home offers affection and security. My home to me is the best place in the world, where I live with my mother, father, a brother and a sister.

I live in my own house. It has been built by my father. It is where I was born. My house is made of brick. There are two bedrooms, a drawing room, kitchen and a store room in it. There is also a cowshed. The rooms are specious. The floors are concrete. Each room has a door and four windows. All the doors have curtains.

Each bedroom has two beds, a book shelf containing books and a stool. The walls are painted light blue. Beautiful pictures are hung on the walls. The drawing room has a round table in the center. There is a sofa set also. In one corner, there is a T.V. set. We watch television every day. The bedrooms and the drawing room have carpets. The kitchen has all amenities. There are cupboards where utensils are kept. There are shelves for crockery.

Behind the house, there is a kitchen garden. There are plants in it. In front of the house, there is a lawn. There are flower plants in it. We bask in the sun there in winter.

Peace reigns in my house. As it is not in a busy street, there is no din and bustle. My nice little house gives me comfort and pleasure. We are very happy in this house. Thus, I can say that happiness depends upon the attitude of a family and not on the size of the house or other possessions that they have.
